Strategic Plan
- Goal 1 – Develop programs to protect and conserve the
county’s natural resources.
- Strategies:
Provide assistance to cooperators on soil and water conservation programs –
technical, financial and other
Develop programs to meet the conservation needs of local residents and encourage
stewardship.
Use CRP as a management tool to assist in erosion control, clean water, and
wildlife benefits.
- Goal 2 – Expand conservation education program
outreach to all residents of the county.
- Strategies:
Develop youth conservation education programs through field trips, poster
contests and visiting local schools.
Assist community organizations and groups through Soil Stewardship programs,
newsletters, district website and public information campaigns.
Assist with at cooperative education programs with Agri-Science Center and
include home schooled students.
- Goal 3 – Participate in existing and innovative programs
to enhance district supervisor leadership.
- Strategies:
Train supervisors and staff at local workshops, state sponsored training, and
other leadership development opportunities.
Use other agencies and partners’ leadership expertise to help districts develop
and implement programs.
